Date: 2016-12-23 06:16 pm (UTC)"I'll be honest I do pretend it's the ocean. Imber's beach has an ocean to it, but that does not really help me here." His boat wasn't far off. "I plan the same if I ever return home, though I'll be honest as much as I miss my family, I would rather stay here." To stay with her and those he'd opened his heart to.
He slipped the shirt off, the belt falling before the shirt since he always wore his belt's over his shirts, it was just the style of his time. The leather pants came next, untied then pushed off, he was wearing underwear for once as well, after learning what the leather pants could do to his skin without he actually looked into them.
"Of course I want to swim, We've been drinking, it's beautiful so lets do something dumb." he teased as he stepped out of the pants, all of his scars on display as he moved towards the water.

Date: 2016-12-23 06:27 pm (UTC)Her light eyes moved back to Thorfinn as her fingers pushed at her skirt revealing thin black underwear. "I want to stay here too." The difference between them was that, should Freya be sent home, she'd just be alone again, wandering, lost and displaced. There was nothing for her at home and there was a fear in her chest that bubbled and pulsed the closer she got to Thorfinn and the others here. Freya wasn't sure if she could survive alone anymore.
"I very much enjoy the way you think Thorfinn." She kicked her skirt inland and then stepped towards the water. Once again the water swirled around her ankles. Her tattoo's were all that she had and like this he could see them all. Her hair was still braided and her fingers tugged at it, allowing the silky strands to loosen and fall around her thin shoulders.
She walked slowly out into the lake, her chin looking up at the sky. "Sometimes I think that it's just a bright light and someone threw a blanket over the earth and poked holes into it." She laughed turning towards Thorfinn with a smile.

Date: 2016-12-24 09:26 pm (UTC)He moved on in tongue water as she undressed more than just for love of the water but wanting the chill to cool his body back down. He hated the reactions he got watching her undress, he knew he shouldn't but she didn't seem to mind, he just hated the idea of her noticong his body betraying him at the sight of her soft skin and thinking him a letch.
He smiled back at her before looking up. "I think it's our loved ones. Watching us from above. Askeladd said they are just stars aa design to lead sailors and hunters and a pattern of tales for the long lost romans... he talked a lot sometimes. And yet I don't remember any of those tales anymore. "

Date: 2016-12-24 09:45 pm (UTC)She stepped until the water swirled and rippled around her waist. It was cold but Freya welcomed the icy chill. For reasons different than Thorfinn's. He never bothered her, she knew the bodies natural reaction to seeing someone of the opposite sex naked and she took it as a form of flattery. Unlike him, she could hide that sort of thing.
Freya looked over towards Thorfinn and moved to stand by his side. "Look at the surface of the water." She pointed down where the stars reflected along the water. "Við getum synda með stjörnum." (We can swim with the stars.)The pronunciation wasn't perfect but Freya was trying and it was fun to try. The phone's were far enough away now that they'd do little to translate between them.

Date: 2016-12-24 09:52 pm (UTC)He liked the cold anyway though he would never willingly take a cold bath indoors. But in open water he loved the cold.
He looked to the water when she motioned down. Seeing both of them and the water, a smile worked across his face hearing her speak his language. He was silent a moment just smiling at her softly before nodding his heavy english coming forth. "Yes... lets."

Date: 2016-12-24 10:03 pm (UTC)She rose her arms over head and then dove into the water. When she broke the surface of the water she flicked her hair over her head feeling dots of moisture trickle over her shoulders. It took her a moment to find Thorfinn again and swim closer.
Freya hadn't meant to end up so far away. "Hi." She placed her palms on his shoulder and lifted her out of the water some. She knew she could push him under the water if she tried but right now she was just trying to lift herself up some.
"Okay." She reached forward and traced a scar along his arm. "Hvað er þetta frá?" (what's this from?) Again it sounds awkward and her phrasing is very simple but she sees no reason not to practice while they're out swimming in the water.

Date: 2016-12-24 10:50 pm (UTC)He loved that she was learning his language. And it helped him with his English to speak it to her since he didn't want anyone knowing he could speak it yet.
Hearing her voice he looked back in time for her to say hi. When she traced the scar he looked down at it tipping his head. This was one of the harsher ones on his arms. He had no issue keeping her up in fact he enjoyed having her holding onto him. "I got it in a duel, I misjudged the distance I needed to move and I was caught with a long sword... I was around 10 If I recall."

Date: 2016-12-24 11:15 pm (UTC)Tonight, she wanted to talk and laugh and let go. Her legs kicked slowly in the water, keeping some of her weight off of Thorfinn's while lightly brushing against his side with her calf. She was half floating, allowing the currents of the water to pull her.
"Og þetta?" (And this one?) She pointed to a scar across his chest. It wasn't very long but it looks like he was stabbed. Freya couldn't help but wonder about each and every cut. Maybe over time she'd learn them all but right now she wanted to point to a few. His story was written all over his body, memories that he had to face despite their difficulty. It was admirable in a way. A painting of the past.

Date: 2016-12-25 12:58 am (UTC)"Oh wow." She looked down his back and saw the matching scar. She moved the hand that he wasn't holding and lightly traced over the scar. Scaring was so fascinating to her, as if it was a peek into a different world. She always thought of them as stories but unlike tattoo's you usually didn't pick what scarred.
"þetta?" (This one) Freya's finger was lightly tracing a scar that was near his shoulder blade.

Date: 2016-12-25 01:32 am (UTC)He couldn't help the light smile at feeling her trace his scars. "That one I fell off a horse and hit a sharp rock."

Date: 2016-12-25 01:59 am (UTC)She laughed softly, the tone vibrating against his ear. "Wait really? Oh, I was learning how to ride a horse. Jamie was teaching me. Usually horses are scared of me but I filled my pockets with apples so I didn't smell like wolf."
The memory made her smile.

Date: 2016-12-25 03:14 am (UTC)He chuckled a bit. "We are not all born good at everything it takes much learning." He explained. "Jamie is a good man. I like him, he will teach you right."

Date: 2016-12-25 03:21 am (UTC)"Yes but horses don't like me and he is." Her smile widened. "We ate apples." She really liked apples. "And I rose, I know all the basics but I don't know what makes a good rider." It wasn't like she did any tricks on the horse, she just made it go forward and then in a circle and then back to the stables.
"You know Jamie?" She honestly didn't think that Thorfinn knew that many outside of the Roadhouse group.
Freya leaned forward, pushing herself part way over her shoulder as she spoke.

Date: 2016-12-25 04:00 am (UTC)"Lucky, I'd love to share an apple with a horse." He liked apple's to, he favored cider as a drink becuase it made him miss his mother and his youth. "It takes time," He reassured her when she leaned over his shoulder that bit and started moving so he could swim a little and pull her around slowly.
"Before I moved into the Roadhouse I would sleep in the stables a lot, so I met a lot of people who work there. Tell Delia you are a friend of mine one day, it's worth a laugh." He teased playfully.

Date: 2016-12-25 04:34 am (UTC)"Who is Delia? I feel like there is an inside joke that I'm missing here. Is it because you're a grumpy Norse-boy who doesn't like making friends." She blinked. "Oh.."
Freya poked a scar that was closer to his neck line. "Segðu mér um þetta líka." (Tell me about this one too.) She smiled up at him as the cold water rippled around them.

Date: 2016-12-25 11:35 am (UTC)He couldn't help the slight amusement. "The houses here confused me when I first arrived, I've slept in enough straw beds to find the Stables comfortable, don't think its anything depressing. I just enjoy being outdoors with what I know than indoors without." He spoke as he swam then.
"That one, ...I dont really remember who did it but it was during a summer raid on a small down. I had about 7 cuts all near deadly points. Bjorn and Askeladd were shaking their heads as Ears just ripped into me about being to young to Enter Valhalla.... I didnt feel most of them. WHich is the truth, in the head of the moment I feel no pain, its when I calm down the pain comes."
"The big one beside it, The one that goes down my chest. That was a battle axe, I was six... Bjorn got the back of my shirt and yanked me back. I was green then and had no place there. As much as I hate to say it I would have been dead. I dont remember much of after he pulled me back until the winter. The battle was in fall, I lost a few weeks of memory."

Date: 2016-12-25 03:10 pm (UTC)She liked that Thorfinn was slowly moving around. It felt relaxing to have the force of the water slowly push against her side. Her gaze was positioned towards the stars before looking back at Thorfinn. She still wonders who Delia was but dropped it. Maybe it's someone she'll meet or someone who lived here. "You seem to like houses now." She pointed out with a bit of a smile.
Freya's legs kicked gently at the water. Small splashes echoed into the night and she couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to swim while drunk.
"Wow. You've really been through a lot." She watched him for a moment. "And you can still smile. You must be very strong."

Date: 2016-12-27 02:52 am (UTC)Almost like he remembered he hadn't answered, which he realized at that moment he added. "Delia is someone that works at the dress shop and stables. She has a dog named Soriel" he spoke "I forgot to say that, she's cool." Then he shrugged his shoulders without throwing off his pace. "Their nice, I miss the houses I know though these are all different. Though to be honest Im used to sleeping outdoors or in barns. And I am strong in some ways, not so much in others... everyone has strengths Freya. I dont still smile, I have learned again how to... you have helped."
no subject
Date: 2016-12-27 03:05 am (UTC)Her head tilted to the side, her hair continuing to fan out like a halo. "I've seen you smile." Freya was sure of that much. "I'm used to sleeping outside too. I thought, maybe that's why I can't just move into a place but I don't know." She's gotten a lot of offers but nothing has felt right and after a few days she feels restless and ends up moving somewhere else.
"I don't think I have any strengths." Freya continued to look up at him, watching him against the backdrop of the sky. The sky behind Thorfinn looked so fake compared to him. A flash of a memory, a dream, entered Freya's thoughts. She felt her hand release from Thorfinn's shoulder and in a moment of panic her face sank into the water. She kicked herself up looking a bit like a surprised and alarmed puppy.

Date: 2016-12-27 03:16 am (UTC)"Not as much... you've helped with that. I used to never smile.. I saw no...Freya?" He heard her sputter as soon as she let go of his shoulder. He twisted himself in the water so he could turn to try help, but instead he laughed a little. She was adorable, and clearly not drowning.

Date: 2016-12-27 03:29 am (UTC)Her palms rested on his chest and she lightly pushed him, enough for him to feel the force but light enough that he could easily fight her shove.
"You saw no what?" She didn't really want to focus on her struggling fight with the surface of the water where she'd clearly lost.

Date: 2016-12-27 03:54 am (UTC)"Bull fucking shit, that was funny. You would laugh at me if our roles were reversed." he came back easily enough. "saw no point in smiling before I met you and others. Now, what happened? What made you choke on your hair." he teased. He liked her hair.

Date: 2016-12-27 03:59 am (UTC)Freya shook her head before she lightly placed her fist on his chest. It looked as if she was getting ready to punch him but the threat was silent.
"Why do my and others make you smile?" She asked, not wanting to tell him what she'd been thinking of.

Date: 2016-12-27 03:48 pm (UTC)He looked down at her hand before grinning more, ready for it. "You because I like you, we get along well. Others for reasons alike but not as much.. Little things I guess. It's easier to relax here than home. Easier to see people as people and now objects in my way."
