She’d probably wash it out later tonight; maybe take a shower or something. The water would probably feel weird too though. She frowned and then pushed the thought away. She wasn’t’ going to think about it; she’d focus on what they were doing here and now.
"You know I’m still fast; just not supernatural. I bet I can still win." Freya stuck out her tongue at him as if that alone proved her point. She never saw Thorfinn as the sort of person to throw a match. She’d done it merely because she’d bet against herself and at the time, she’d really wanted a drink. Sylvi could no doubt out run them both.
A small exhale of breath exited her lips as she ran after Thorfinn and towards the woods. She already felt the new strain on her joints, the pressure against her arms and legs and the sharp inhale of her breath. It was completely different from what she was used too. "Sam asked if I’d come back. It’s not uncomfortable. I just don’t think anyone really wants me there." Talking and running was difficult so with that said she stopped talking and tried to pull ahead of Thorfinn. She didn’t care where she was going, for the first time since she was young she was watching her feet, making sure she didn’t trip on anything as she made her way forward.

He liked showers he longer he was in the world, he showered once every few days but Saturdays he'd steal the tub for a an hour or two and clean himself better. Only on Saturdays.
Thorfinn wasn't the type to, but the idea had hit him so he planned to do it, if only to make her feel a little better, he didn't count on the tiny pup outrunning them both, but he took off fast as Sylvi followed, the two moving quiick as could be. Though he could hear Freya he choose not to call back so not to wind himself, it was only after some distiance he started to make himself slow down.

Freya felt herself getting winded, but she pushed forward, it was easier to run faster when Thorfinn was in front of her, for a while she stayed at his side and then she noticed that she was either pulling ahead or he was falling behind. She didn’t know if it was intentional or not, her sense of time and effort was disjointed and unclear. She could only feel the wind on her face and the hard ground under her feet. Her muscles began to scream with pain but she didn’t care, she pushed forward, she kept pushing. Her breath became ragged and was audible as they moved forward. She didn’t know where she was going but she felt as if she could out run everything behind her; this sudden change, the pain and the past. Thorfinn was with her which meant that there were no chains behind her, nothing to stop her.
She wondered how much time had passed, it wasn’t very long, not compared to what she’d run before.
Freya felt her limbs weaken noticeably as she continued to force herself forward. Thorfinn would probably notice the strain in her limbs but she didn’t want to stop.
Not yet.

He ran for speed.
She ran for freedom.
He wanted her to remember she was still free even if they were captive in this place.
He watched her go until his lungs started to burn only then did he stop, calling out to her. "Don't push yourself to hard!" He called loud, but he didn't want to discourage her, she was used to being more, he didn't want her hurt, but also didn't want her feeling like less.

Nothing was broken or bleeding but she'd be bruised in a few hours and they'd probably last for a few days. She pushed her palm against the ground and grunted as she pushed herself up to a sitting position.
"Damn it." She was pissed but there was little she could do about it, she'd wanted to go faster but she couldn't. Once seated she looked over to where Thorfinn was, her fingers tugging at her hair. She was annoyed, not so much sad, just really pissed off.
Freya supposed that now might be a good time to finish fixing her motorcycle.

Thorfinn saw her hit his jaw dropped a moment before he pulled the look back into himself. Pushing off the tree despite his own aching lungs, losing on purpose was harder than wining it was like letting his body realize he was tired rather than running through till the rush died off.
He moved over to her, his brown eyes on her. "You okay?" No belittling even if he had words in mind he would have said. She was having a hard enough time without him being a bitch to her. He offered a hand down to her still having heavy breaths. "Need a hand?"
no subject
She took his hand but used her body weight and rocked back, trying to pull Thorfinn down to the ground with her. Leverage and gravity were great when used properly.
"I'm fine. Just sore and stupid. You didn't let me get ahead did you? Because if you did then you owe me a drink." Maybe not today. She didn't want to walk into any bar with dark bruises on her arms. She'd wait for them to heal and then think about dealing with society. Maybe sneak into a window so she could find a bed to sleep on. The ground was a lot harder now that she wasn't so resilient.
no subject
"See if I play nice next time." He bit back before shifted to pull his knee off but not his hand from her. "I guess I owe you a drink." It was as close to a confession as she'd get. He never saw a point in lying.

Today was supposed to be a happy day and that thought rang constantly in her head.
"Then you should buy me one now that I can feel it. I wonder how much I can take." She was so small. Freya's head tilted to the side as she moved forward, wrapping her arms around Thorfinn's. "I want to keep going. To see what else we can in the forest but I wanted to hug you first."
no subject
He was about to say something when she launched forward to hug him. An amused look crossed his face as he hugged her back tightly, before twisting them to give her what she had said moments before, laying her back so he could lay half over her. "Better? And hug me anytime you wish, unless I am at the forge, that might upset the boss."
no subject
It was like the world was lined with silver and everything she touched could hurt her if she let it. she didn't want to suddenly be afraid of the world.
Freya laughed as he pushed her back and hoovered over her. Her hair fanned in a halo around her head and as she looked up at him, she couldn't help but keep smiling. "Yes, much better." Her fingers stayed at his side, holding him in a light hug. "That sounds dangerous. I'll make sure to do that when you aren't near anything that's on fire and maybe when the boss has his back turned. I don't think I've met him anyway, he can't be mad at me if he doesn't know me." Because that made perfect sense somehow.
no subject
He couldn't help the smile that crossed his face as he looked down at her, his own hair fanning around his face as he looked down into her eyes. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever met, at least he felt as much of late. "I'm not to heavy?" He asked concerned though most of his weight was being balanced on his forearms. "Yes please don't make my hair burn, I mean, I'll let you cut it after we get married if you want but I do like it as it is." He replied with a slight blush, a vikings hair was important, for him it was like its own armor. "You don't know Henry? he's cool."
no subject
Freya shook her head. "Not that heavy. Of course it helps that your weight is almost evenly distributed." He was heavy but she could breathe and she liked it when he was close like this. Though his hair would tickle her nose if his head got lower.
"I don't know him and you can keep your hair how you like. I like my hair long." She looked up at him, her eyebrow raised. "Assuming it's okay that I keep it long. All I ask is that you keep your beard." She liked it when he looked manly.
no subject
He was still blushing as he leaned down a bit, brushing the tip of his nose against hers. "As long as Im not hurting you." He added low before lifting his head to tip his hair back.
"Freya, it means something." He spoke pushing himself to sit up. "Only the person you love can cut your hair. And I would never cut yours, besides the fact I'm bad at it, I like your hair, and no I dont intend to shave my beard away again. I wont grow it long but its shameful for a norsemen to be beardless if he's old enough." He had risked shame to let her paint his face.
no subject
She exhaled a soft huff of laughter. "If you hurt me I'll hurt you right back. I told you that less than thirty minutes ago." One of her eyes closed as his hair brushed against her face. It was a curse of having long hair.
"I've never heard that." She reached forward as he sat up and lightly brushed her fingers through his hair. "Then I'll just trim it. I like it long. It suits you and I can play with it."
no subject
"A lot of my time is forgotten right? Well, its something not everyone does, but i always thought it was cool. Only the person you love, there is a story of a woman who went as far as to tell her husband she would divorce him if anyone else even cut his hair, so, only you are allowed. That said I feel I should say this." he reached out both hands on his cheeks again looking into her eyes. "I only plan to get married once, you are stuck with me now."
no subject
She felt her heart flutter and jump when he called her beautiful. Now it felt like it meant more, not only had she defined the word for him but she felt like it was hers because he was hers.
"Yeah," She agreed with a nod of her head. "I like it. I think it's nice." It was different but nice. "Though I go with the modern sensibilities of you cheat, I get to kill you. If you lie, I'll find out and probably fight you and so on and so forth. I'll add hair cutting to that list too." Despite being a wolf marriage, or whatever it was chosen to be called, still held weight. It meant something and it was a something that would last forever.
"That doesn't sound like a bad thing."
no subject
She was now his definition for the word beautiful, even in the morning with her hair messy sitting on the earth.
"I don't ever intend to, so that is fair. Though instinct or the world messing with us aside, I'll kill the other person. I wont lose you but I'll take out any other choices." He spoke firmly, now that the idea was in his head, he'd cut a man who tried. "I dont see much point in lying Freya, I'm not very good at it either. Fuck if I do lie its for your own good."
He leaned in again to steal a quick chaste kiss, feeling now he could steal a kiss now and then.
no subject
Her smile faltered a bit but then returned when he stole a kiss. That's the part that she thinks she'll like the most, being able to be close to him, whenever she wanted to be, just because she wanted to be.
A shiver twisted up Freya's spine making her shiver. "That surprisingly doesn't really bother me." Killing, fighting, protecting, they all made sense in the wild. It wasn't senseless and it wasn't for lust or power. That sort of killing Freya would never approve of, but she'd never stop Thorfinn from protecting his family; in whatever manner he thought was right. She might argue with him but in the end, she'll trust his choice and stand by him. That's what mates did.
"Mmmm, even if it's good for me. I would rather you tell me. I've been through enough shit, I don't think that there is anything I can't handle now." As long as Thorfinn was there. Though as the words left her lips she was reminded that everything felt wrong, she shifted her weight uncomfortably before adding to her last statement. "Can we find a stream and wash off?" She didn't know what it'd feel like but she wanted to sit in the water and just feel it run over her. It was something that she hoped didn't change, she loved the water so much.
no subject
It was the part he was looking forward to the most. He was already getting used to waking up around her after the random sleepings in the woods the past few weeks, but the idea of walking with her and being as strange as they pleased with being able to touch each other any way they pleased, this was a thought that made him feel like he was floating.
A more playful grin crossed his features seeing her shiver. "I am glad to hear that. I don't see the violent part of me ever changing." he had no idea what life had had in store for him, had he not come here the way he had when he did, he'd very well be on his way to being dead inside for awhile, though in truth, he still felt empty for the most part, the parts if him not filled with her.
"I'll do my best." He promised. He was sure there were things he would be sworn to secrecy on, so he wouldn't make a promise he couldn't keep. "You at least no longer have to face these things alone. If I'm at work or the roadhouse call me, I will drop whatever to come to you, that said, I don't know if marriage changes it or not but just in my mind this wont chance much besides us being more. We still do the things we did before. Still see our friends whatever we do. I dont know... I just worry you'll think I expect things to change." He pushed himself to his feet and closed his eyes pointing a direction. "Streams this way, Im pretty sure."
no subject
"Violent, not violent. It's whatever." She didn't really care. "As long as I can hit you back." Which she will, even if she wasn't 'allowed' to, she would anyway. Freya wasn't very good at following rules. At least she didn't follow them just because they were rules.
Freya huffed but dropped that topic as well. She didn't like the idea of secrets between them. They could build a wedge or make things weird but then, she really wasn't very good at being close to someone so it might be all in her head. She'd have to wait and find out. It was just another thing she didn't know. She hated not knowing. "Change things..." She honestly hadn't thought about it.
"Well yeah, we have work and lives and I'm pretty sure I'll get yelled at by like five different people if I randomly disappear for more than a few days." Again. "I don't know if things will stay completely the same but I don't know if they'll change very much." This was more stuff that Freya didn't know. "I'm not actually sure how any of this works." She waved a hand through the air as she stood. "It isn't like I've done it before. I was just sort of winging it, trying not to expect anything. If I think something is weird I'll mention it. I'm not really a PDA person but I would like to hold your hand more. That's technically a change." Though not very much. "And stuff like that. I still have to work and so do you and we sleep is separate places so I can't really see all that many changes."
Freya realized that she was over thinking it and ended her train of thought with a shrug. She hadn't thought about it until Thorfinn brought it up. "Let's focus on getting to the stream." Her voice sounded tense again and while her face was relaxed her smile was gone. She felt an itch beneath her skin and where she had cut her heel earlier started to hurt along with her shoulder. As if the two different parts of herself called out to each other.
no subject
"I don't know what PDA is." He replied only after taking her hand. "You can hit me back, but know its unlikely for me to raise a hand to you, us Norse have rules about how we treat our women. Unless we are fighting for fun, that is not something I see myself doing." Temper or not, he treated women better than men in that reguard. He'd deck a man but he didn't like hurting woman unless he had to. Thinking a moment of the woman that fell into the stream a few years back he shook his head leading them along. "but holding hands is not much of a change. We already do often. At least I think so."
Leading her into the clearing where the stream was, it was bright and sunny with leaves falling around them, almost picturesque. "Speaking of sleeping in different places, since I'll have to figure that one out. How would you like to spend the night in the inn tonight? I could rent us a room after I get off work."
no subject
Her head tilted to the side as she stepped forward, she was slower, careful. Moving over the rocks and stepping over the roots as to not trip and hurt herself further. "I like play fighting, pillow fights, wrestling. That's usually what I mean when I say I'll fight you. I honestly can't imagine that you'd do anything to make me really want to hurt you."
Freya smiled when he took her hand. It helped her walk a little bit more steadily though she wasn't going to say that outloud. Knowing Thorfinn, he probably noticed. "I'd be down for that. Can I sneak through the window at the Inn? I really don't want anyone I know to see me. Just for a few days while I figure. This-" She waved her free hand across her torso. "-out."
A few days to herself, Thorfinn was invited of course but she really wanted some time to adjust.
no subject
"That we can do anytime. I will not protest." he teased a bit helping steady her without saying a word about it, to spare her pride. "Of course, I'll make sure to get a room on the second floor near the tree. That way you can climb in through the window near the branch." he spends a lot of time at the inn hanging out with Ragnar and Bull. "Take all the time you need, I'll buy the room for a week at least, give you days to figure it out. Though I must return to the roadhouse some nights others I will stay with you."
no subject
"Mm?" She turned towards him, being pulled from her thoughts. "Really? yelling at you? I just thought you were being an idiot." She'd been so pissed off. "And I'll continue to yell at you when I think you're doing something stupid." It was just how she was. "I think everyone needs to be yelled at."
Freya smiled at his blush but turned to look forward and didn't comment. She knew that he didn't like it when she pointed it out. "Just wait for it then." Part of the reason that Freya pulled at Thorfinn's arm, pushed him into things was to start a playful fight. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't; either way, it was always fun.
"Okay. Return to the Bat-Cave if you must." She really didn't want to be alone right now but she also did. It was just another conflicting feeling in a sea of emotions that threatened to drown her.
Freya paused, pulling lightly on Thorfinn's hand once the stream came into view. "Hey, can you do me a favor?" She looked serious as her gaze met his. "I don't know what's up with the Roadhouse but no one has that magic in one place unless they're hiding something, protecting something or very paranoid. I really hope everyone there is just paranoid honestly. Anyway, I don't know what it is but I want you to be careful okay? With this-" She waved a hand at herself. "The lack of powers thing. It might be everyone and if it is then the Roadhouse might not be safe and if the place is protecting something." Her frown deepens. "I just don't want you caught in something that you don't know about because-"
Because that's what happened to her family.
