She kept up decently well, wolf or human she loved to run. The wind tangled her hair and knotted it as it streaked behind her in shimmery silver and golds waves. Her steps were a little uneven at first but she found her pace, as the pads of her feet thunder against the forest floor. It probably wasn’t that loud but with the easy and silence that Freya usually ran, it felt loud. She searched the forest floor for dry patches of earth, smooth rocks, anywhere she might be able to step. It was easy after a while, her body remembering the movements even if the power was taken from her limbs.

Freya felt herself getting winded, but she pushed forward, it was easier to run faster when Thorfinn was in front of her, for a while she stayed at his side and then she noticed that she was either pulling ahead or he was falling behind. She didn’t know if it was intentional or not, her sense of time and effort was disjointed and unclear. She could only feel the wind on her face and the hard ground under her feet. Her muscles began to scream with pain but she didn’t care, she pushed forward, she kept pushing. Her breath became ragged and was audible as they moved forward. She didn’t know where she was going but she felt as if she could out run everything behind her; this sudden change, the pain and the past. Thorfinn was with her which meant that there were no chains behind her, nothing to stop her.

She wondered how much time had passed, it wasn’t very long, not compared to what she’d run before.

Freya felt her limbs weaken noticeably as she continued to force herself forward. Thorfinn would probably notice the strain in her limbs but she didn’t want to stop.
