That wasn't what normal people said and Freya was reminded again that Thorfinn wasn't normal. He was perfectly not normal and it was then she realized that it was one of the things she liked about him. He wasn't like anyone she's ever known. He wormed his way into her heart in a surprising way and then sat there, to stubborn to leave her be. He's the only person she's met to try as hard as he has for both others and himself. He understood what it meant to be alone even when surrounded by a sea of people. He understood her in a way that no one else had before.
She didn't know when it started but tears began to gather and spill down her cheeks. Her fingers wrapped tightly around his as he shifted on his knees. Freya was sitting at an awkward angle but she didn't think she had the strength to move herself.
"Thorfinn." Her tone was soft, pleading, begging, hoping. "You keep making me want things." And now she was crying and she didn't even know why. She wasn't even sure if her tears were sad or something else. "Just tell me." Freya looked at him, her eyes light and wide while tears fell freely down her cheeks. "Is this what it's suppose to feel like? When you love someone? I'm scared but I'm so happy and I can't stop crying and I don't know why but I don't think it's bad." She smiled, even though she was crying. It was the most confusing set of emotions ever and Freya decided that it must be what love was. It couldn't be anything else.
