Freya watched him, wishing that he would look at her. Her eyes glanced down at the watch.
2 minutes.
It didn't give her enough time to think. She wanted to ask him so many question but the words turned to ash in her mouth. Freya was confused, uncertain and scared. It might not work, nothing in this world was certain and she didn't want to lose Thorfinn. Whatever role he played in her life, it was important. He was more important than anyone else. Except, he might not think so and then she'd be alone again. Freya wasn't sure if she could so that.
30 seconds.
She closed her eyes for a moment and tried to breathe. To turn off the rampant direction of her thoughts and to stop the trembling she felt in her fingers. How can something so simple be so terrifying? She could fight, face monsters, but this... this was scary.
13 seconds.
12 seconds.
Freya's eyes moved to the clock face. Time was passing too quickly and too slowly all at once. She wanted to say something, to conquer her fear, or to run. She was really good at running.
6 seconds.
5 seconds.
Her hand moved forward, it was still shaking, but she ignored it as her fingers cupped the hand that was holding the watch. She leaned forward, her hair spilling over her shoulder as she softly whispered the rest of the count down. "4... 3..." She paused just before kissing him, looking up to meet his gaze. Freya had no idea what she'd find there but she wanted to find out.
