He could barley hear her call out his name when he pulled her under, letting go to move away, up for more air, then back down, it wasn't easy for him to keep his eyes open but the water wasn't as bad as ocean water to him. So he moved much easier. After a few moments he slid up behind her again, slipping a hand up her spine, but didn't move back fast enough. If she turned she'd catch him.
