There wasn't a particular reason that Freya picked this spot but here she was, pulling Thorfinn's arm as she headed towards the coast. Maybe it was just that she loved the water, the freedom, the scents, maybe she was a little tipsy, it was hard to know anymore and what's more, Freya didn't care. She didn't remember ever smiling this much. Not for a long time and the act was starting to make her cheeks ache. Not uncomfortably but enough that her thoughts would occasionally be pulled towards the conclusion that maybe, just maybe, she found a small piece of happiness.
"Come on!" She tugged again though Thorfinn was almost at her side. It didn't matter. she'd wanted to see the beach and here they were. She only stopped when she reached the waters edge, her bare feet just out of reach of the waves. She wasn't wearing anything fancy but true to the holidays Freya was continuing to wear dresses. It was a December thing for her which to others might be seen as odd. She was back to wearing black though it would most likely change again soon.
Her chin tilted up and her eyes rested on the moon and stars that hung freely in the night. "I told you it'd be beautiful." She'd been spending a lot of the holiday with Thorfinn. It was selfish but he was the only one she had that made her feel like she was truly at home. It didn't really matter where they were or what they were doing. He understood her, and when he didn't he tried too.
