Character: Freya Jane Vaughn.

World Description:

Freya's world isn't very different from modern day. There is just one important part that's different and that's the world of the Hidden. The Hidden are species like Freya who seek to keep their secrets and oddities away from the public eye. There are many types of Hidden and not all of them are known. Freya doesn't know much outside of her random travels around the world. She's met mages and other wer's but nothing else. Other than the Hidden there is no difference between modern day 2016 and her world.

History:

She was born, as a wolf, in Montana and lived there for the first part of her life in a happy sort of bliss. Werewolves in Freya's world are born as wolves and learn to turn into humans. They aren't able to go to public school until they are able to control their shifting and keep the secret of their lineage. She had one brother and three sisters which is uncommon in most wer families. Werewolves are always large families and there are usually more males than females.

Freya's father was killed when she was 9 years old. He was captured and tortured under the orders of a vampire who was determined to rule over humans like a god. The goal was to gather information about the werewolves in Montana, who were one of the largest werewolf packs in the United States. Freya's extended family has since been fractured to about half of its original size.

Even after her father's death, her and her family were happy. There were always reasons to smile and her extended family often helped when it was needed.

When Freya was 15 years old her family was killed. She survived by hiding under her mother's dead body. All she remembered from that night was a large daunting figure and the rain. She has been traveling across the U.S. since with detours to other countries for the last eleven years. Her only goal to avoid Montana and remain dead in the eyes of her extended family and enemies.

When she was 19 years old she met Matias. Matias is a werewolf who was part of a pack in Ohio. There was something broken in him and he was by nature sadistic. He hunted and ate humans who get lost in the desert and upon seeing Freya knew he wanted to take her as his mate. The encounter was short but shook Freya and stayed in her memories. Freya managed to escape from the unstable male and began to consider Ohio on her states to avoid. Matias can't leave his territory without killing his whole family first. He is determined to find her and make her claim him.

From then to now Freya traveled across the U.S. meeting people and enjoying the freedom that her life allowed her. She has stories of crazy adventures but her favorite moments are ones where she can simply run free.

Does your character have any close ties to existing canon characters? Yes and no. Freya is a comic nerd but comics have 4th walling, alternate universes, etc. I will have a permissions post if anyone wants Freya to fan girl but since she's a part of a wide range of nerd, I am going to assume that she'll internally be excited and have it happen off screen unless specified otherwise. I will approach those interested in any other reaction and talk out how they'd like Freya to recognize them. Some comic book heroes, like Spiderman, canonically has a comic of that hero existing on earth. So it'll be a case by case basis of what players are interested in. It is easier that way and won't limit her CR or make anyone uncomfortable. Not being in game makes it difficult to approach people before hand as it will be a lot of people I do not know. I am also a spaz.

Why do you think your character would work in this setting? Freya is constantly running. She was first running from that unknown shadow that had killed her parents and then Matias. Later in life she is running from the man who could have become her mate. Her natural reaction to anything is to run, and it's for that reason that she will take Eli's offer. What she doesn't realize is that she'll be stuck in Boomtown for a while. That will be fun. Freya will avoid making promises or being tied down but she likes working, having fun and meeting people. As long as no one mentions the word -pack- to her. It is Freya's four letter word. Then she'll automatically get defenses because she avoids anything real.

How do you plan to expand their CR? Freya is a social butterfly but she is also very flighty. I hope that having her be stuck in Boomtown until she accidently starts caring about people is the best way to have her accept the world as hers. Caring is putting her outside of her comfort zone and I honestly look forward to it. She will try to run at first and while she does need people who will follow her despite her pigheadedness, I do look forward to watching her grow as a person/wolf. Aside from that, Freya loves throwing parties and just having fun. Her life motto is all about living in the moment, making it easy for her to interact with others. She likes seeing how others view the world or learning about new places and new things. Learning is one of Freya's guilty pleasures.

What will your character do for work? Freya is a mechanical engineer and will likely work at an auto-shop of some kind or a place where she can fix things/get her hands dirty. She likes working with her hands and has a good mind for those kinds of things.
